Welsh Winter Warmer

Following the Christmas release of our Clogau Reserve 2020 festive gold liqueur, we’re back and busier than ever! This year’s release of Clogau Reserve sold out fast, but we have a limited supply stored away just for Foragers’ customers, so grab yours exclusively from our online store before it’s gone!

It’s been a chilly start to the year here in Wales and we’ve had stunning views of the snowy mountain peaks from our little distillery. And just because it’s cold doesn’t mean nature is taking a break! Buried warm under the frost-dusted earth lie the next season’s sugar beets- a staple ingredient in Snowdonia Distillery’s newest release, Y Bēt Welsh vodka!

While the rest of Wales is on ice at the moment, we at Snowdonia like to thaw out with a classic winter hot toddy, but with a botanical twist. Wrap your chilly foraging hands around your favourite mug and enjoy my favourite Forager’s Toddy:

– 40mi Foragers Black Label gin

– 15mi fresh lemon juice

– 3 cracked cardamom pods

– a small squeeze of local honey to taste

– 150mi water

Heat the cardamom in a pan until toasty and fragrant. Add the water and simmer until warm (but do not boil). Stir in the honey until fully melted and let it mull gently for a while – by now your kitchen should smell divine. Remove from the heat and add to your mug with the gin and lemon – warm your hands and enjoy!

We’re looking forward to what the New Year will bring – watch this space for all of the exciting things we have in store for the year, too!

Tan y tro nesa! (until next time!)
