Snowdonia Distillery

Well, what a summer we have had here at Snowdonia Distillery, since we last left you guys an update in May we have been continuing to work around the clock to still bring you our delicious line of gins, vodkas and rums, but as an extra addition in May, we set aside extra time to produce the next batches of both the Anejo and coconut rum.

The Anejo Rum had been aging for a year and a half before it finally reached maturing perfection. We extracted it from the cask, and saw instantly the beautiful, rich, warm colour of the rum and knew that you, the wonderful enjoyers of our spirits would instantly fall in love with this batch as you had the last. The flavours were rich, flawlessly smooth and well rounded.

The coconut rum we had been working on and released had exactly what we fell in love with originally. The fresh true coconut flavour enhanced by the true pure sugar cane to give the authentic Caribbean experience through our textbook Welsh purity.

June brought us our latest and biggest batch of the best flavoured Gin in Wales, our iconic Winberry Gin. With the Winberries being fresh off the bushes and positively bursting with juice, this translated perfectly into the Gin, giving an even more distinctive and sweet note from the fruit into the already delicious background of the spirit base. The colour has kept the super bold, distinctive, powerful deep purple we were infatuated with.

Throughout the Summer we were privileged to have a plethora of visitors from the good folks at Turmeaus, wanting to learn more about our production processes and flavours to better recommend to their customers and how to work with and mix our spirits to make your celebration and relaxation times even better.

I’m very excited to announce that we have also started work on this years one time release of our partnership Gin with Clogau Gold! I do not want to be giving too much away and allow for the build up to Christmas and let it speak for itself and make a wonderful addition to your Christmas spirit shelves.

Finally, if you follow us on any of our social media you will have seen that we recently held 3 separate exclusive events, these were Birthday Parties for us as Foragers, as of the beginning of September Foragers turned 7 years old. To celebrate this we asked local venues whom we have worked with extensively in the past. Firstly was Heartland, the fantastic coffee roastery nestled away in Llandudno. Nath and the team there provide us with the deliciously smooth monsoon Malabar coffee we use for our Marsette coffee liqueur. We had a packed out house full of excitement, revelry and spirit aficionado’s.

Secondly was Elementary, a local bar in Rhos-on-Sea who has been a stockist for the longest time and big time supporter of the distillery. While a smaller venue the energy was still just as big, giving us stories and memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Lastly but by no means least was Gwynllan Vineyard in Llandudno Junction. This was a much more relaxed evening to start, in the outskirts of town, bordering the Snowdonia national park, the clear skies gave a perfect serenity to the evening. All events gave us a chance to engage with you, tell you our story, thank the people we have worked with, who have supported us all these years and we can never thank them, or you enough.

We enjoyed ourselves enough and received such good feedback we are hoping to hold a few more in future, if this is something that you would like please feel free to let us know either via the email found on the website, or via our social media platforms and a member of the team will be happy to help you.

Thank you for such an incredible summer and we look forward to seeing out the rest of the year with you!

Rhys and the Foragers team.
